EGT4 Sprint
Presentation
After the successful surprise return of the EGT4 Sprint championship last season, championship drivers will be back for the 09-2024 season! The EGT4 Sprint takes place on the Assetto Corsa Competizione simulator. All drivers must undergo a qualifying session before participating in races to ensure placement in the correct class. This is how we ensure a fair and balanced competition for everyone. Qualifying sessions will take place from January 8th to January 14th, 2024. A driver wishing to join the championship after this date may do so, but may not be able to take part in the first event. The cars currently available are as follows: Alpine A110 GT4, Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4, Audi R8 LMS GT4, BMW M4 GT4, Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R, Ginetta G55 GT4, KTM X-Bow GT4, Maserati Granturismo MC GT4, McLaren 570S GT4, Mercedes AMG GT4 and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

When you receive a penalty, a notification will appear in the upper right corner of your screen, and you will see the notice in the screen showing your position in the lower left corner of your screen. DT (Drive Through) type penalties are served by crossing the pit line while respecting the speed limit. For SG (Stop & Go) type penalties, you must stop in your pit stop “box”, stop the engine, and remain stationary until the time counter is reset to 0 depending on the length of the SG penalty you got. Exceeding the speed limit during the start procedure or overtaking before the green can earn you a DT for example.

Track limit penalties and warnings only apply if you gained time compared to your best time in a micro sector. A micro-sector can be a single turn from entry to exit, such as a series of consecutive turns.
Your benchmark time will change over a longer race, so even if you had a quick time on the first lap, it would not remain your benchmark throughout the race. If the weather goes from good to bad, off-track and track limits will be more “permissive” while your reference time readjusts, given your slower pace as you continue to ride. Conversely, if the weather turns from bad to good weather, you will need to be much more careful as your reference time readjusts, as you will quickly improve your pace. After a few laps, everything will be back to normal.
If you gain a lot of time in a single turn, for example if you gain 1.5-2 seconds by bypassing a chicane, you may receive a penalty without any warning, it could be a Drive Through for example. Normally you should receive three time-saving off-track warnings before you get a penalty on the 4th warning.
You should always be more careful with the track limits during the first few laps of a race as your reference times are often slower than normal, so it is easy to save time going off the track. The more fast, flawless laps you put on, the lower the risk.
If you are the victim of contact and cut a turn while out of control, the system will take the contact in consideration immediately and may drop the warning. Of course, it can't predict everything at this level, but it's generally handled very well. -
The speed excess in the pits during practice and qualifying sessions are less penalized, sometimes you can see a tolerance of 5-10 km/h over the limit without there being a penalty. If, however, the excess is deemed too high, you will automatically be teleported to your "pit-box".
In a race, tolerance is virtually non-existent, so the safest way to avoid penalties is to use the automatic speed limiter. Please note, however, that the speed limiter only works in first gear. If you enter the pits in 2nd-3rd-4th-5th-6th gear, it cannot be activated, neither automatically nor manually. Same thing if you are in first gear on the speed limiter, when you change gears, the limiter will deactivate.
The reason it is only possible to use the speed limiter in 1st gear is that the engines in these cars are not designed to run at very low revs. Some could just stall, others could be damaged. It is therefore a question of safety for the engines.
- You can receive a speeding penalty in pits in the following ways:
- There is an existing tolerance for very small excesses entering and leaving pits or when you turn off the limiter for a fraction of a second, but it is not advisable to attempt to save time in this way, because it is very risky.
- You will automatically be assigned a DT if you exceed the speed limit for more than half a second, without exceeding 70 km/h.
- You will be assigned an SG30 if you exceed 70 km/h regardless if it is for less than half a second. If you drive faster than 70 km/h entering the pits, the penalty can be very severe.
- You will be disqualified if you exceed the pit line speed limit multiple times and/or if you completely ignore the pit line speed limit.
- Regardless of the penalty obtained, it will be assigned to you when you exit the pits.
Penalties can add up. For example, if you receive a DT when you already have an unserved DT, you will receive an SG30 to replace the two DTs. If you do not “serve” your penalty within the next three laps, you will be disqualified from the race and teleported to your “pit box” with controls blocked out. -
No limits sets of tires per race night will be enforced (practice, qualifying, race).
-
In order to tighten the competition, we have chosen to implement a BoP system according to the results of the previous race. The top three drivers in each class will receive additional weight ballast for the next race. The weights will be distributed as follows:
-1st: 40kg;
-2nd: 30kg;
-3rd: 20kg.
These weights will be reset between each race and will therefore not be cumulative in the event that a driver wins two consecutive races. -
For the EGT4 Sprint championship, a pit stop is mandatory.
The driver must put in a minimum of one liter of fuel and the length is fixed for a minimum of 25 seconds. The drvier can make the decision whether or not to change the tires, and he can do it whenever he wishes during the race during the 43 minutes pit window.
-
The results of the EGT4 championship races will be divided into Pro, Pro-Am, Silver and AM classes. To score points, the driver must complete the race and cross the start/finish line.
Points will be distributed as follows:
Position
1st - 25 pts
2nd - 23 pts
3rd - 21 pts
4th - 19 pts
5th - 17 pts
6th - 16 pts
7th - 15 pts
8th - 14 pts
9th - 13 pts
10th - 12 pts
11th - 11 pts
12th - 10pts
13th - 9 pts
14th - 8 pts
15th - 7 pts
16th - 6 pts
17th - 5 pts
18th - 4 pts
19th - 3 pts
20th - 2 pts
In the event of a tie on points in the standings, the final race positions of the drivers involved will be used to determine which of the two had the better results. Example: if during the season driver "1" finished in first place four times and driver "2" has finished in first place twice, driver "1" will finish ahead of driver "2", even if they have the same number of points in the standings. This analysis will be done until the results of one of the two drivers is higher. -
The weather for the EGT4 Sprint Championship will be determined in advance. The weather available on the practice server will be the same as on race night. The practice server will be online one week before the race.
-
The broadcasted splits will be reviewed in its entirety. For the other splits, the review will only be done by submitting a ticket via the discord server. The driver must enter the time of the replay as well as his car number.
-
The races of the first split will be broadcast in French if possible, otherwise in English. The drivers will be informed if the broadcast is impossible.
